Guess it's time for a blog post then!
hello friends and martyrs, yes it's been quite some time. I missed you muchly. Is that a new hairdo? It's very stylish. What's that? Oh, thanks, yeah it's new.
I really shouldn't spend too much time procrastinating on our fair blog but i felt i really should share with you a few tasty tracks which are so far sucessfully alleving me of my desire to fall asleep on my keyboard.
The first is the utterly tasty (and sneaky fresh download) new track from M83, 'Couleurs'. In the past i've always been fairly standoff-ish towards Anthony Gonzalez and his seemingly heavy distain to stick to one fucking genre, but this new track, which backbone is beautifully akin to the theme to 'Assault on Precinct 13', has put him back on my radar again. Now i don't know if this is just him or having GOD Ewan Pearson holding producer duties, but either way, it's gold.
Next, it's Supermayer. I heard of their record a few months back but this one slipped through the net for me. Going back and reading all the 'best of' lists has made me realised that i overlooked 'Save the World'. A lovely little collab between to serious heavyweights, Superpitcher and Michael Mayer, they've created something which, if a little derivitive, is certainly alluring. The extended album version of 'Two of Us' is utterly sublime, though i get the feeling that from my slow pickup i'm probably the last to realise that. Either way, there you go.
Finally, something rather exciting from camp Arcade fire. Remember the interactive 'Neon Bible' video that surfaced a wee while back? They've only gone and stepped it up a notch for 'Black Mirror'. Haunting (iainhasaface top tip: 1, 3, 4, 5, 6. Mr Sky Valley prefers it without the 3, so whichever your preference).
Right, i'm off to stare blankly at scientific journals for the next 7 hours. Toodle-pip!
