Hello! Here are some things I have been listening to recently!

That's Symphony No. 3 by Glenn Branca, who I ramble on about all the time. This is my favorite symphony I've heard of his. I think it was his first based on the harmonic series, and uses guitars, drums and a bunch of custom built instruments. If you saw the Boredoms playing at the Arches and noticed the stack of 2x4's with guitar strings and pick ups that Eye played, that's what Michael Gira played in this ensemble. It was recorded in 83, Thurston Moore and Lee Ranaldo from Sonic Youth were also involved.

This is Xerrox Vol. 1 by Alva Noto, head of Raster-Noton and all round legend. It was released last year and I can't stop listening to it. It's different from what you might be used to from him, there are no beats and it's almost orchestral in places. Gets better with repeated listening. There's so much detail it's incredible.

And finally Volume 1 of a collaboration between Hototogisu and Burning Star Core. Volume 2 was released on Hototogisu's Heavy Blossom label, this was released on C. Spencer Yeh's Drone Disco on a proper CD(!) and came with a cool badge. It was edited from hours of improvisation and is as noisy and as quality as you would expect.
