should i make this blog private view so as to make the blatant music piracy less evil as it would be like burning friends copies of albums you think they'd dig, which is totally not immoral?
I could set it so that only people who are invited can see it, so everyone with posting abilities and if theirs anyone else who reads this regularly then they can mail me and i'll send an invite.
I put it to the vote...

me vote: yes.
I like to at least pretend that I'm talking to someone other than you five or six guys. And I don't think there's intrinsically anything more more morally dubious about what we're doing than allowing people to, say, download shit off you when you've got Soulseek running or whatever. At least here there's the element of criticism and advocacy. So that's a no.
Oh, and you're all gay, cocksucks, etc.
yeah, thats fair enough, but i'm beginning to think that if thats what we're doing then we shouldn't be posting full album leaks.
and i guess its not intrinsically anyworse then p2p network stuff, but thats maybe bad enough on its own - and we're actively promoting it in a sort of "Ha, look what I've got!" sort of way... which i like doing with you guys, but don't think i wanna be doing it (theoretically) in public.
If we could have album streams that would be cool.

If someone has already posted it on that, is it criminal activity to post a link to it?
We didn't upload it.
Charleston, surely this conversation is redundant?
As much as we all might like to believe we've got our fingers on some sort of pulse, once anyone's posted something on this blog, the cat's surely been out of the bag a while already, no?
The conetoaster disclaimer is enough i think.
No use crying over leaked milk.
Ha ha!
(PS new wolf parade ain't a grower, it's larger than life and all up in my face and i couldn't be happier.)
(yes my opinion might soley be based on the fact that you'll get the full new wolf parade before anyone else and yes i want it bad.)
how about this as a solution?
1)make a closed forum where we can post what the fuck we like and call each other dicksucks and that.
2)tart up the blog, make it like an actual blog where we take a bit of time over posts and stuff and only post streams of stuff?
Dunno about that. If that were the case, we'd have a forum where you could find whole albums, with a little thing saying "check this out you queerofags" and we'd have a blog with a couple of songs that you'd spend ages discussing to an almost entirely imaginary audience. Who'd bother posting on the blog? If you want to do that, you might as well just leave the blog as it is but make it private.
I can understand your moral qualms about what we're doing - I'm not going to pretend that we're performing any kind of selfless crusade to reform the music industry or anything - but personally I'm not too bothered by them. If you are, then make the blog private.
i agree to both sides. maybe don't post full album links and just have streams. that'll bring more return traffic to your blog and make you feel cooler.
you could just post a link, and be like, "i'm not illegally posting any material but if you google 'islands arm's way rapidshare' you just might find something." or whatever. do what you gotta do. either way, keep the music flowing. check out my blog - the box.net widget is pretty slick. i recommend to all bloggers.
yeah i like the look of that box.net thing. will have a play around with it, cheers j-red.
