And I'm pretty sure it's because I'm not putting up enough sludgy doom metal. Fuck knows i'm trying my hardest, but I know you're all like "Pete! Put up more sludgy doom metal right now! You're not putting up enough! Our appetite for sludgy doom metal is endless and all of the time you spend posting sludgy doom metal is in no way wasted because we download it all and appreciate all of the sludgy doom metal you post more than Lindsay Lohan's hairless lesbian vagina! It's just that there's not enough of it! We wish you would post more, broheim!"
Well, ALL RIGHT.
Buried at Sea are great. They write extended songs (and not many of them: I was trying to find their back catalogue and I was about to give up after two LPS until I realised that I pretty much had it) in the vein of Neurosis or Pelican if they were like "hey, fuck it dudes - we've all got beards covering our balls, there's no way we're ever going to get laid in our lifetimes, so let's just skip the quiet bits and fuck some shit up for a bit."
What I'm trying to say is that they're loud and slow.
And long.
And beardy.
And probably virgins.
I have discovered that if you press ctrl+i together you can write in italics. So I've been overusing that. Quite a lot.
Here are some albums.
Buried at Sea - Ghosts - oh good christ it never ends. In a good way. One 30-minute long song with a brilliant heartbeat motif, which goes from movement to movement but only properly reveals the big riff - the money shot - about 20 seconds from the end. Bet you can't do that. You'd be all like "Hey, we've got this great riff, let's build a whole fucking song around it." But that's just you all over. No patience. No finesse. I bet if you took a girl out on a date it'd be a value meal from McDonalds and a quick handjob round the corner from the drive-through. Jesus, just get out of my sight.
Buried At Sea - She Lived For Something But Di Something Something Can't Remember Right Now - Slightly earlier EP, but still great. They're not quite so dead on with the songwriting, but the riffs are all there and they're heavy as fuck. yuss.
