japanese stuff

Right well i am going to spam the living baws out of the blog for the next few days due to a combination of boredom and procrastination.
Jas our dear chemist friend is off to tokyo the lucky bastard for the stupidly reasonable price of 230 quid, bastard. i want to be in japan, i have been to lots of different places in asia but japan isn't one of them.
just look how cool this looks:

well i thought that i would give Jas some awesome tunes from a country which has such a bizarre attitude that almost anything can happen, like yamatasuka eye forming hanatarash and destroying a venue with a jcb:

It is just so cool, i think there might be something in the idea that they were driven to a pretty extreme need to rebel from the classical culture after two nukes were dropped on the country. This led to the creation of a fairly amazing hippy culture which can be read all about in julian copes book japrocksampler. but here is what julian cope declared the best japanese psyche record:

flower travellin' band - satori

it is a truly amazing record full of totally balls to the walls solos and lots of feedback, not to mention the first thing you here is a dude yelping and then into a meaty riff.

Next up, diesel guitars - stream of lights a guitar drone record recorded in a temple out in the country in kouki ji temple no 2 it is a beautiful mediative drone record reminding me of rhys chatham's a crimson grail it is really truly otherworldly and serene. also just imagine being in a temple listening to one all encompassing drone it would be so unbelievably cool. SO um yeah jas please download it and do that for me.

diesel guitar - streams of light

Lastly for now comes, the strangest of all releases the sound track to one of the most fiendishly difficult games i have ever played GITAROO MAN, as far as we can work out you are some kid who can destroy bad guys by totally slaying on guitar there is an assortment of musical styles to conquer and an assortment of bad guys including the totally awesome power metal song with a phantom of the opera look a like bad guy:

Gitaroo man - OST

right due to my laptops some what limited supply of tunes i am going to stop here with more to follow, look out for the akira sound track of which i am sure some of you are very aware, possibly some boredoms almost definitely some of the more extreme gabba tunes coming out of osaka as well.
so for now enjoy
