couldn't find anywhere to stick a picture of david cameron here

Not sure how popular this is going to be here, cos it's an album with, you know, guitars and singing and other stuff that grandads used to listen to before heading off to the Walmsley Conservative Club for a beef dripping pie and a few bracing hands of Twiddle-My-Gumshoe, but damn if this isn't one of the best albums I've heard this year.

So, what does it sound like? Kinda… Southern rock.

Come back.

Howlin Rain is the pet project of Comet on Fire Ethan Miller, and it's shot right through with the influence of his first band: loads of organs, wailing guitar and unaffected emotion (remember that?). It's unashamedly harking back to a purer time, a time of loading up your Gran Torino with gospel choirs and heading out to the desert for a quart of bourbon and a coupla buttons of finest peyote. You can get behind that, right? Yeah? Awesome.

Howlin Rain - Magnificent Fiend. Released on American Records. That's Rick Rubin's label. So if you don't like it, he's gonna come round, beard-whip your pale limey ass into submission, then hate-fuck you to death. Because he can.

Hey, is that Rick over there? Shit, I think it is. I think he wants to say something.

Er. Better do what he says.
